Our Prime Minister has just returned from the sunny south and his meeting with the incumbent President of the United States of America, Mr. Trump. I don’t think he took his bathing suit or his surf board with him for this meeting. Our Organ Grinder did pack his monkey, Mr. LeBlanc, with him to protect him from evil I guess.
As you may guess, Mr. Trump, the man who is threatening the world with high tariffs, was not pleased. His concern seems to be with our border. You know, that imaginary line the is letting all the drugs and guns and illegals into Canada and all those illegals into the US. Mr. “T” wants something done, now!, or the tanks will come north. Apparently, our border security sucks!
Take firearms for example. By now most of you have at least heard of the recent shoot out on Queen Street in Toronto The Good which, by most accounts, involved at least one hundred shots.
In an on-line article by Codi Wilson from CP24 on 14 November, 2024, we find the following thoughts:
“Sixteen firearms were seized during the investigation and all of the guns can be traced back to the United States, Matthews noted…These weapons serve as a stark reminder of the real and present danger that illegal firearms pose to our community, to innocent citizens and to officers who bravely respond to these incidents,” he said.
And, from the same date on the CP24 web page, Chris Fox describes a Halton Regional Police arrest in which:
“Police also seized nine firearms, $60,000 in bundled currency and a re-vinned Mercedes that was being operated by one of the accused”.
What do we make of the outcome of these arrests. More money for border security and policing? No, of course not. Tristin Hopper in a National Post article of 14 November, 2024, details the dilemma of a company funded primarily by our Federal Government in action:
“Just two years after the Trudeau government put up nearly $9 million to help build the world’s largest edible cricket factory, the facility is dramatically cutting staff and production in what they say is an extended retooling”.
Now our Canadian Border Service Agency’s staff are dedicated, hard working folks who have been hung out to dry by our Federal Government. In a recent interview a retired member of the service stated that very little inspection is done on such things as shipping containers that house smuggled drugs and guns can be done due to lack of resources.
I hear that today, December 3, 2024 Mr. Trudeau has called the leaders of the Opposition Parties to a meeting on such matters. My question to our Prime Minister would be; “What have you been doing about this since you took office back in 2015”? His answer would be of course; “cutbacks to fund programs that win votes”! Never mind who is sneaking into and out of our country with evil intent.
Now that our Prime Minister has been called to kiss the ring, he and his gang of woke types had better come up with a workable plan of action and not just promises to do something over the next five or ten years as he has with his NATO commitments.
Time is running out and the Barbarian is at the door, sir.
